N1 It was discovered that the blank associated with the batch of colilerts containing the above
sample had failed. The blank had a positive result of Positive for Total Coliforms and
Negative for E. coli. On the day it was analyzed, all standard aseptic techniques were
adhered to while setting up the associated blank. The shrink wrap was taken off fully, the
bottle lid and inside of the bottle were not touched while opening and closing the blank, and
the sterile water was poured to the fill line as normal. The lot of sterile water in use had
passed QC prior to use as did the reagent of Colilert-18 that was added to the blank and
used for the samples. The analyst performing the analysis had used a fresh set of gloves and
did not jump from one analysis to another in this specific instance. The bench top was also
bleached down prior to and following the analyzing of samples. The above sample yielded a
result of Negative for Total Coliforms and Negative for E. coli. Client notified via micro analyst
on 07/20/24 and on 07/22/24 BF
