EPCOR hired a temporary worker (Carol Martinez) in July 2020 to help collect bacteriological samples. After training with our water quality specialist. The temporary worker collected samples on the week of July 27, 2020 in the 07/150 sun city west system. Two of the bacteriological samples collected on 7/28/2020 by the temporary worker were reported as positive for total coliform samples (E.coli negative) on 7/29/2020 by Legend Technical Laboratory. Repeat samples collected on 7/29/2020 were all absent for total coliform and E.coli. the chlorine residuals in the two positive samples were all absent for total coliform and E.coli. The chlorine residuals in the two positive samples collected on 7/28/2020 were approximately 1.1 mg/L and there had been no issues in plant operations , no line breaks, or construction activity in the system. The temporary worker admitted to being nervous and rushing to complete the sampling. They were retrained in the following week on sampling protocol. |
